blood work question

I went in for my first ob visit after missing my period last week.   The Dr said I was 5 weeks and sent me for blood work and a us.  The us only showed a round circle with cells.  My HCG level was around 1400.  He asked me to go back for blood work every week to check the levels and see when the HCG reaches a level to see a heart beat.  Does anyone know what that level is to see a heart beat? Was it ok to only see a round circle on the us?

I have not gotten the new blood results back yet.  I should know in a day or 2.  I go back to the dr next wednesday.
Thank you for your responses.

It common to not see anything that early in pregnancy. I didn't see a heartbeat until about six weeks but most of the time doctors suggest going at 7-8 weeks so that you have plenty of time for the heartbeat to be detected.

yea i think you have to be like 7-8 weeks to see the heart beat they sent my sister to do the same thing a us at 5 weeks and they didn't see anything but the sack then she went again at 7 weeks and sure enough the baby was right there, so i think you will be fine Good luck....what did you doc say about your hcg lever?
