BAsically what it says is ...for example....say they did an ultrasound on 100 women who are the same number of weeks you are. Your baby being at the 27th percentile means that your baby is bigger than 27 % of those other baby but smaller than 83%. That's how a doctor explained it to me. But like another poster said, the further along you are the less accurate the measurements can be.
Since you are 30 weeks, weight and measurement of baby can be off by quite a bit. A week before I had my son, my doctor said that he was on the smaller side and only weighed about 6 pounds. I had him 5 days before my due date and he was 8 pounds. I would try not to worry too much. :)
well i am diabetic so i dont know if that is on that scale or a normal pregnancy scale.. my son was born small and i have done a great job trying to keep my sugars under control.. i just want a healthy baby is all.. thanks for your insight
It is a scale. If a baby is on the 50th percentile it is considered average size. Therefore if the baby is on the 27th percentile it is a bit smaller than average...I wouldn't be too worried if she said it's only a real concern if its below 10.
