5 weeks pregnant... HCG test concern

Good morning.  I had 2 positive home pregnancy tests yesterday, so I went into my Dr for a blood draw.  They called me with the results of 148.  My doctor is saying that it is really low for 5 weeks, and that she wants to retest in a week (I asked her if we can retest sooner, I was planning on telling family this weekend).  Everything I find online from the American Pregnancy Association says that my level is fine, but my Dr is saying it is too low.  Should I worry that I am miscarrying?

My Dr. just called me to clarify that all she meant was that maybe I am not as far along as we originally thought... that maybe I didn't ovulate when I "should have"

I would put google down for a few days though. I know it's hard :( lol.
But the best thing right now is to relax

I am just so ridiculously confused on which scale for the HCG level is right!  They one that I got with my blood test results:
4 - 5 WEEKS               1,000 - 50,000
5 - 6 WEEKS               10,000  - 100,000

And then the one from the American Pregnancy Association shows 18 - 7340

I'm the most impatient person ever as well, lol.
I know how you feel. A week seems like a long time, but trust me, thinking back now to when I was bleeding etc... I cant believe im a month away from being halfway done! lol.
Time fricken FLIES

My husband just keeps telling me to be patient and wait until next week when she will retest me, but I just want to know my baby is OK!  I am not good at waiting!

My insurance doesn't allow for me to go to Urgent Cares without prior approval.

Same thing happened to me. My pregnancy was going great until 10 weeks. I went in for my ultrasound an found the baby has no heartbeat. It stopped growing at 9w 3d. My levels where always low in the beginning. Best of luck to you!

Probably best to wait, but then again - anything can happen at anytime.
We told everyone last time at about 7wks. And everything was perfect til my 16wk checkup where they found he had no heartbeat.
So this time, we told everyone right away. Figured it can happen early on, or later on...
Normally they would do another test in 48hrs or so... Because that's when they should 'double'... :\

Thank-you!  The chart that my doctor used is COMPLETELY different than anything I found online...it is SO confusing!

I am waiting to hear back from my Dr about getting the HCG level retested tomorrow!

I really wanted to tell some of my family this weekend, but I am not comfortable telling them yet if there are problems!  So I wanna know!!!

While I don't want to scare you, pain and bleeding are not always a tell-tale sign of miscarriage. you can bleed and baby can be fine. Or you can not bleed or have any pain at all and miscarry (missed miscarriage, meaning your body doesn't realize the baby is no longer alive), which happened to me at 16wks last yr. Everything was perfect, then bam, ultrasound showed his heart had stopped a week prior :(
BUT! I wouldn't worry.
My level was only 102 for about 4wks with this pregnancy... They said it was 'really low' too... but I read online they can range from anywhere from 5 - 426 and 5wks from 18 - 7340.... lol So the range is CRAZY.
I'm 16wks today :) and aside from a gush of blood at 6wks, and another gush at 12 wks, baby is perfect and kicking away :)

If you were miscarrying you'd be in pain and bleeding.  The baby may just have been conceived later than expected.  Don't stress to much
