Abnormally high HCG levels, No Heart Beat

Hi,

My wife is in her 7th week and her HCG levels are increasing from 21000 on 12/31 to 56000 on 1/14 to 81000 on 1/18. Yolk Sac, Embryo Sac and Fetal Pole are seen, however no Heart Beat, the 3rd scan done on 1/19 indicates missed abortion, we have already had 2 M/C's before, the last one in August 2010. Doctor suggested D/C but seeing alarmingly high HCG levels has asked us to wait for 1 more week. She has no other symptoms indicating a M/C. She has PCOS. Any help or information on this would be greatly appreciated.

I agree- don't do anything just yet. Just wait things out. There is no harm in waiting but there could be harm in doing anything hasty.

DO NOT DO A D&C!! I had the same thing with my last pregnancy...You could probably look into my journal on here and see I had the exact same experience. I went for several ultrasounds up until I was almost 9 weeks...My hcg was HIGH...The dr's suggested a d&c and I refused...Thankfully I stood my ground, I now have an eleven month old beauty to show for it.
We finally seen her at the 9th week ultrasound.
Please dont let them push you into anything. Dr's are to quick to rule out a pregnancy
All the best to you and your wife
