6 weeks pregnant and continuously high blood pressure

I am 6 weeks pregnant, and have high blood pressure. I have not been able to see my ob for the first time as of yet because I am still waiting on insurance to go through. I do not have any bp meds to take to help control my bp either. My bp keeps going over 150/90. I do not know what to do, and would like any advice I can get.

I have gestational hypertension. My normal bp before I was placed on medication was usually around 190/120 which is dangerously high. Needless to say it came with a lot of unpleasant side effects. Not to mention it was preventing my baby from getting enough oxygen. After a while, even on medication it was still sitting around 150/90 which still had my doctor very concerned. There are so many things that could go wrong if you don't get your blood pressure under control. Best option is to go to the ER. They bill you later so you can get the treatment you need now.

Yeah that's why I suggested urgent care, if you go in as a cash patient they will usually lower their rates.  BP is really important to have controlled in pregnancy.

A normal blood pressure is 100-140 over 60-90. So you should be fine as your blood pressure isn't that much higher. Good luck though. :)

Has you're bp always been high? Even before you got pregnant? And do you take you're own bp is that how you know its high? You need to get to the Dr. You may just have to pay for the visit BC that's really not good specially being pregnant.

Thank you! The problem with that is I don't have any insurance until my insurance goes through. That's why I don't have any meds to take.

Can you get in with your GP? Go to a clinic or ER. It's really important to have your BP under control right now. I've had to add a second bp med to keep mine under control. Congrats on your pregnancy!!
