Hi...I am 26 weeks pregnant, and I have had about 4 or more UTIs they suck, but really its just a normal thing that happens to everyone not just pregnant women...before I got pregnant I would get one like eery other month crazy huh.....my doctors really couldnt explain what was going on...they kept telling me its natural and just take the meds like I am supposed to....well thank god I have some relief now...you will soon have relief too but dont worry about your baby not being healthy because of it!!! :) Just for today :)
It didnt matter what I did during my first pregnancy I had like 5 during the nine months
Hi there. Sorry to hear about your situation. Im a nurse and have to teach women about Uti's frequently. My advise to you is this: drink plenty of water which you seem to be doing, if you like it drink cranberry juice as much as you can, personal hygiene is very important making sure to wipe from front to back( i know that that seems obvious but you'd be surprised how many women don't know or do this), and lastly it's very important that you pee after sex and never hold in urine as this can harbor bacteria and allow them to grow. Also, if you are prone to uti's avoid taking baths as sitting in the bath water can introduce bacteria. Good luck and I hope this helps.
They might consider putting you on a different antibiotic if they did the same thing twice if it comes back again. But dont be surprised if you get a yeast infection also because I just had 2 UTI's in 1 month and then a yeast infection right after!!! But you can drink cranberry juice. I guess while pregnant we are not able to take the pills but a little shot glass worth of pure cranberry juice is supposed to help. It wont cure the infection but will help with prevention. Ask your dr what the best brand is to buy or if there is anything else that you can take that is over the counter. They are no fun by any means. I havent had one in years and then 2 right in a row was horrible. I will be 35 weeks on wednesday!!
