Advice needed please! Pregnancy and lortab use.

I am currently 33 wks pregnant and very excited. I did not find out until I was about 20 wks. I had spotting and three preg tests come up neg. My mom and I thought I had issues with my "lady parts" until a dr visit confirmed pregnancy. I have been using lortabs for about three years now. No one knows, not my boyfriend, family, friends... NOONE. My first prenatal visit was at about six months due to an issue with finding my birth certificate. I was able to stop for a week and half before that and am sure I passed any drug test due to the fact that I heard nothing about it. But, unfortunately, I fell back into the habit but only a few. I just had to have a tooth pulled and was prescribed tylenol 3. I have been able to keep myself off the lortabs since and am going through no withdrawals. I think the tylenol 3 helped. My concern is with meconium testing. I have read mixed messages all over the internet about whether they will test his meconium or not. I've read "only if he shows withdrawal symptoms". I don't believe he will because I quit and I am not withdrawing and I am determined. I also read "they won't take him away if you talk to your dr and go through rehab" I absolutely cannot do that. I also read that there are criteria they go by.. Low birth weight (my tummy is not huge, but ultrasounds came up normal weight and everything else at 28 wks), or limited prenatal care (mine is limited due to mixed messages). My questions are - am I safe since I was prescribed tylenol 3? Would the two show up the same? And will it show how long they have been taken, or just that they are in his system? Is meconium testing mandatory for medicaid in texas? And if they find opiates in his meconium, will i have him taken away and have it posted everywhere for the world to see?

I am assuming by the time you give birth (if you do NOT take any more meds) that it should be out of you and babies system. My suggestion would be to be honest with your dr... let him know whats going on, they are there to help... There is also patient confidentiality... They will not be able to release any information to family or friends about the things that have been told to him.... I live in AZ so am not sure about the Texas law... I do know out here that they do not test babies for substances unless they feel there is a reason too... Good Luck

also, I've read babies in this situation are born with low birth weight. Since he was normal weight at 28 wks, will he be normal weight at birth since I quit taking the pills?
