7 weeks pregnant but empty gestational sac.. Help !!

Hello !! I went in for my first u/s at 5 weeks. They did the internal (vaginal) scan. The sonographer could only see the empty sac with no embryo or heartbeat. My doc asked me visit again after 2 weeks. At 7 weeks, while repeating the scan (internally) again they couldn't find anything just an empty sac. As per the doc my sac was measuring of 4 weeks and not 7 weeks. I am confirmed about my LMP and as per that I should be 7 weeks along. I haven't had bleeding or any spotting. No my doc has asked me get it repeated after 2 weeks. I am not able to take it any more and unable to wait. Plzz help !!

Don't give up its not over till he says its over just keep the faith and remember most miracles come with out visual sight but never ending hope and prayer. I hope you have a good report next time. Remember god is always with you and he always knows best so never doubt what he decide to do with your situation. Everything will be okk in the  end according to his will.

Update - Today went in after 2 weeks for another scan. Still the same report. As per LMP I am 9 weeks, but gestational sac measures 5 weeks 4 days. I am in big confusion now. I was very much reluctant to go for a D&C today itself, as i cann't take it anymore. But my doctor insisted me to wait for another weeks. As gestational sac has been developed from 4 weeks to almost 6 weeks. I guess God is not with me ...   :(  Help me plzz.  I am not feeling any pain or crampings. Any positive chances or for a miracle ??

Are there any positive changes in my body which I could notice and a bit hopeful that now there will be my little miracle in the sac !! This time I am not having any sickness at all... !!

i would be prepared for the worst. with that said, when i was supposed to be 7 weeks along, my daughter measured at 5 weeks with no embryo. i had an u/s 2 weeks later when i started bleeding, and that was the first time i heard her heartbeat. now shes almost 3 years old! keep us posted please :)
your doctor should have your hcg levels tested. i demanded mine tested from the local clinic on campus (i was a college student) and they were doubling at the normal rate. my daughter always measured 2 weeks behind what she would have if we had calculated according to my LMP. hope this helps!

I need something to ask.. Like as per my doc, I am 3 weeks behind.. will this difference remain till the whole pregnancy period?? Like now i need to visit my doc at 8 weeks, so will the sac now be measuring 5 weeks?? But then also will things be visible to them ?? huhh so much calculations... I am confused...

Hope for the best! Prepare for the worst. I had my first scan at 5 weeks and saw nothing! I was heartbroken. Went back a week later and they saw the sac and heard a heartbeat. I was about 6 weeks and 3 days. I'm currently 13 weeks. Everyone and their baby is different! Sending positive thoughts your way!

I hate to say it but it sounds like a blighted ovium to me. I had one in 2011 with no bleeding. Dr kept checking on everything. Found out I was pregnant in September didnt end up miscarrying until December even though the Sac never grew past six weeks. I hope I'm wrong and everything goes well.

The embryo could still be too small to see/pick up. I had my first scan at 7 weeks and they struggled to find anything. It were only because they picked something up on an mri scan. Else I wouldnt have known I were even pregnant. I can completely understand your confusion though.  All this pregnancy stuff, especially at the beginning is so complicated. Hopefully the next couple of weeks will fly by, and all will be okay. Definitely keep us updated though. If you start to bleed heavily or have bad cramps then get in touch with your doctor ASAP. X

Thanks !! :) I am just hoping for good, but hate this waiting .. But incase the ovulation happened 10 or 15 days after, then too how can the sac measure 4 weeks (3 weeks late)...

When your due date is worked out they do it from the start of your last period, but it doesnt nessacerily mean that you conceived on that day, also the embryo has to implant. Ovulation takes from 7-10 days after your period. So it could be that you arent as far as you believe you are. I hope all works out for you. And that I offered some insight. X
