Thank you! I was really worried, and everytime I caught myself fallig back I would try to catch myself, But the pillow behind my back was so uncomfortable and the only way I could actually fall asleep was to lean slightly on my back. At my apt wed. the dr said my placenta was in the front so I wouldnt feel my baby for a while more like the 18-20 weeks range. So i was kinda nervous that If I layed on my back that the Placenta could affect my baby. Dont know if that sounds ridiculous.
And you don't have to sleep completely on your side, just tilted enough so your uterus is tilted as well. I put a pillow behind one side and then lay on that so I'm tilted and it feels best to me too!
As early as 13 weeks you should be fine. The issue
is when your uterus gets heavy it will push on a major artery constricting blood flow to your brain and uterus. I'm 20 weeks with twins so my uterus is pretty heavy at this point and sleeping on my back causes dizziness and charlie horses in my legs. My doctor told me to absolutely not lay on my back for any long period of time. Your body will let u know when your uterus has gotten too heavy, and it will be best to sleep on your side when that time comes.
tell that to my hubby LOL He wants to go all natural. lol Which I dont mind lol except when I am in the Migrane time, then I want to punch him lol.
Lol taking 2 Tylenol at once is fine :)
Im 32 weeks and still sleep on my back sometimes...if I lay on my sides for too long my hips start to hurt really bad...my doctor told me to sleep how im comfortable
lol.. Thats good, Because I was so worried that I would fall alseep on my back completely in the middle of the night, and something happens. And My husband is like obnoxiously worried about anything. I mean He doesnt like it when I have a migrane and Need to take a tylenol. So when i do have one and need to take it, Its only 1 pill, not the typical 2. lol We have been trying for so long, so I understand he just doesnt want it to "end" lol Since we have gotten this far. lol
I still sleep on my back and my baby is fine. Everyone is going to give you "advice" just to worry you, but truth is most of the things we are warned about are just downright silly, even my OB said so.
