missed miscarriage

Im very confused , i found out i was pregnant about 10 weeks ago , my doctor thought i may be having an ectopic pregnancy because i was in abdominal pain so sent me to have a scan . The doctor at the scan said the baby was very small and there was no heartbeat and id probably suffered a missed miscarriage and to go back in 10 days.I went back in 10 days and to my shock and the doctors shock there was a very healthy heartbeat. About 3 weeks later i went for a private scan because i wanted a picture of the baby and to my devastation the doctor said there was no heartbeat and the baby was very small for the weeks pregnant i am and that i suffered a missed miscarriage. I went to my doctor and she gave me a blood test ,the results came back with my hgv level very high over 12000  which also confused my doctor..I went for another scan and again the baby was small and no heartbeat. I have had no bleeding whatsoever not even discharge , i had a stomach infection which was left undiagnosed for a while could that of harmed my baby? My doctor feels the next step is for me to have a D&C  but although i don't wont to prolong the inevitable ,if I'm not bleeding and my hgv levels are high am i better off waiting for a while or am i just fooling myself?
All advice/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I went back to the hospital today and im having a D&C on thursday , although im devestated in a way im kinda relieved that its finally going to be over, i dont know if i could of taken anymore of one week the baby dead the next week the babys alive. I hope you understand what i mean. Although i wont be trying again as i split up from my fiance i hope one day i will get the chance to be a mother. Good luck and best wishes to everyone

I am in the same situation, my levels just came back over 20,000.  My LMP was 09.02.07. I went in for an U/S last week doctor said I was only 6w when I should be at least 8w or 9w.  She said the baby was very small, & no heartbeat. She wants to see me back in two weeks for another scan to see if there is a heart beat and to see if the baby has grown.  I am just curious if this has anything to do with my m/c I had on Aug. 5. My hormones are rising, but the fetus size doesn't match up to my levels or LMP.  And from everything I have read I should have seen a heart beat right?

Hello. I had m/c and a d&c. I when in for my 1st u/s everything was good I was 6w. and then had to have another u/s at 9week, baby had no hb and was only 6-7w. I had no bleeding or cramping. I had a d&c done 4days later. and had a u/s right before and still no hb. Im sorry for your loss.
