cervical stitch

i was wondering if anyone has had the stitch following a miscarriage? i lost 2 beautiful babies recently and they have diagnosed a weak cervix now. i dont know why they didnt do this before as both my losses were during my 2nd trimester with my cervix opening up.

they have suggested a stitch next time round but i need all the info i can get now cuz i am very scared of things going wrong again. could anyone who has had the stitch before please provide info on their experience?

please help.

Milly

I have not had it but I have also had 2 m/c and my dr suggested that to me as well as taking some type of steroids. I was considering doing the stitching being that I dont wanna gain excess weight with the steroids. I dont really know too much about it but I will do some research on it get it back to u(I was gonna research it anyway)...

My best friend has the same thing. She lost her first baby at 4 months. The second one she delivered at 5 months (miracle baby) he is 8 years old now. The 3rd one they told her that she would need the same precedure they adviced you to have, if she wanted to go full term. They waited till she hit 2nd trimester to see if she was going to needed. 5 months came around, 6, 7 ,8 ,9 and guess what she didnt need that procedure done after all. Im not sure if by having 2 other babies made a difference but this time around she didnt go into labor like she did before. Baby is now 4 years old. There is hope. Sorry for your loss. Good luck!!

No experience with it personally but I have heard of several people and seen numerous shows on discovery health about women with incompetent cervix and getting the cervical circlage.  So far nothing I have heard has been negative.  The ones *I* have heard of have all gone on to deliver at the end of pregnancy...some slightly premature but no major problems.
