This will sound selfish and ungreatful

This will make me sound ungreatful.and selfish but...My best friend is driving me insane!!!
Im 16weeks along and very excited!! We are slowly getting things for the nursery....BUT...my mate has gone out and got all the shampoos, creams, clothes, toys, even new born nappies!!! Iv mentioned to her a few times to stop buying things but she thinks im joking.
This being our 1st baby we wanted to get all the things and make it special..same with my mum, she wanted to do a little hamper up for me (which i wanted her to)...but now there is not a lot left to buy...

HOW DO I GET HER TO STOP BUYING BABY THINGS AND LET US DO IT??????? HELP!!!!

I agree...there's always more things to buy. My family and friends have given me a lot, and I've still spent more than I care to admit getting ready for the baby. I wouldn't worry too much about it, just have fun shopping for cute little clothes and baby gear because now you don't have to worry about diapers and baby soap. Every little bit helps.

I have a lot of family members doing the same. I knew early on that it would be a problem though so I stocked up around 20 weeks and bought what was important to me; bedding, nursery furniture, mobile, first stuffed animal, etc.
You dont have to use what people give you. But you probably will. But if its something personal to you, let them know.

I understand what you're saying as far as wanting you & your significant other to buy all the things for your baby together. This being my second child with a great man I felt the same. However all the things a baby needs adds up. So I am allowing our friends & family to buy some if the small stuff as this gives us more $ to be able to buy the big things! Besides as we all know a child & it's needs are a constant expense so I say take the help while they're willing cuz it won't last forever but just set some guidelines on what you're okay with them buying & what you're not. Hope this helps some. Congratulations & good luck!!

I can understand what you are saying, but trust me, you can never have enough. Once the baby comes you will go through them so quickly, you'll be buying more before you know it lol.
