GBS positive is testing positive for Group B Strep. It's a bacteria that's found in the birth canal and affects about 1 in 4 pregnancies. But it comes and goes, so you might have it with one pregnancy, but not with another.

When i had it i was 1 cm dilated, but i don't know if they will do it if you haven't dilated. I had mine done at hospital.

Yes you have to be dialated enough for the doctor to be able to get to the bag of waters..usually 1-2 cms at 1 cm they can sometimes stretch it enough to get to it.  Sometimes it's painful other times just uncomfortable it just depends.

Some will still do it. They just need to give you the antibiotics at labour. You would need to speak to your doctor and see what they think about it.

Should or shouldn't do it? I am gbs positive too and I am sure that I won't need one though because I always go into labor on my own (but this is also my 3rd baby).
