Caffeine during pregnancy for first time mommies

Hopefully this is within site guidelines.
I wanted to mention that small amts of caffeine are considered safe during pregnancy. The March of Dimes apparently says 200mg of caffeine is safe per day in pregnant women. :)

My OB with my last pregnancy told me a cup of coffee or can of soda was ok in pregnancy. Be sure to ask your Doctor first to be on the safe side!

Agreed- small amounts of caffeine will not harm the little one, and may help you feel better! Ginger Ale did wonders for me in the 1st trimester when I felt nauseous.

no problem. :) My last ob was a VERY cautious woman... this pregnancy. I've been known to drink 1 energy drink (small one) a week. It really helps me get over my slump. it also helps that it only has 120mg caffeine.
