BIG question

First off please don't judge me! So last year when I had got together with my Babys father he didn't know he had a STD because he have no symptoms of it. But we had sex for a while and I had a huge break out and I was told I had herpes in the vaginal area. Etc etc long story short my baby is head down now and I was still gonna go with a c-section but I'm scared now and worried that I wanna go for a vaginal birth again. Now my c-section is schedule for the 14th of Nov. Next week is my last apt and my doctor said he was gonna explain what I need to do before I go in on that day for the c-section. Should I call and tell them I wanna try for vaginal birth? and if I have to have a c-section that day when I go in I won't question it. I'm just worried about my son catching it. He shouldn't have to deal with it for life. Some advice would be nice.
I'm 37+2 so anyday now.

I understand your nervous about the c section but it really isnt that bad, just make sure you get up and move around it will help with the.gas and the soreness, dont let yourself get stiff. Everything will be fine and when you see your baby it will all be worth it. Hope everything goes good for you!!

Go with the c-section hun it's not that bad trust me I was so scared when I was gonna get mine it hurts pretty bad the first couple of days but it gets better after just walk and you'll heal faster. Having a vaginal birth puts your baby at risk. C-section is scary but a lot safe.

I will talk to him more about it but most likely will go with a c-section.

Yiu can still have a vaginal birth if you take acyclovir (herpes meds) 2 weeks before delivery thats what my sister was told. She did that and had her vaginal birth.

My friend has herpies and delivered her son vaginally. And is about to deliver her second the sane way... as long as she doesn't have an outbreak. As long as you don't have an outbreak you won't pass it to the baby!

You CAN HAVE A VAGINAL BIRTH!! So please stop telling this poor girl she can't. As long as your on meds and you do not have an outbreak during delivery you can have a vaginal delivery. My step sister in law has done it twice. Talk to your doctor and good luck!!

I would just go with the c section and pray :) that way there is no way baby could catch it and you would feel at ease in the end! Good luck :)))

I think I'm just more nervous and emotional about the c-section then anything right now. I don't want my baby catching anything I am taking the medication but still scared so on the safe side so he won't have to deal with it il go with a c-section. Just scared since I only have 2 weeks left

For an std like herpes I think it is unlikely they will let you have a vaginal birth because the risk of transmission to the baby. You could always ask your doctor hough just for peace of mind. And maybe if your not having a outbreak they could take some preventative measures. The worst thing he'll say is no and your c section is already scheduled.

As far as my knowledge goes with STD's and vaginal birth is very limited but I had a friend who had vaginal herpes and she couldn't have a vaginal birth because she had a break out a few days before she was giving birth and they were worried the baby would get the infection in her eyes. So the day she went into labor they did an emergency c-section. She told me if she hadn't had a break out they would have let her have a vaginal birth. But since she had a break out they had to do a C-section.

If you have any sort of std or infection down by your lady parts, it's highly recommended that you do not give birth vaginally. If you would have gotten treatment for the std and was cleared by the doctor then yes you could. However, since herpes is a disease that never goes away and lies dormant for months, it is recommended to deliver by c-section. If you did deliver vaginally, your baby could contract the herpes virus in it's eyes, mouth and other moist areas. I hope for the best for you and your little one.
