When you have an std normally that require you to have a c-section so the baby want catch it. If Im not mistaking . Just call and talk to your doctor about it.
If you have any sort of std or infection down by your lady parts, it's highly recommended that you do not give birth vaginally. If you would have gotten treatment for the std and was cleared by the doctor then yes you could. However, since herpes is a disease that never goes away and lies dormant for months, it is recommended to deliver by c-section. If you did deliver vaginally, your baby could contract the herpes virus in it's eyes, mouth and other moist areas. I hope for the best for you and your little one.
They can give u medications to make it so u don't have an outbreak during delivery don't worry it will b fine...talk to ur doctor and see what he says :)
As far as my knowledge goes with STD's and vaginal birth is very limited but I had a friend who had vaginal herpes and she couldn't have a vaginal birth because she had a break out a few days before she was giving birth and they were worried the baby would get the infection in her eyes. So the day she went into labor they did an emergency c-section. She told me if she hadn't had a break out they would have let her have a vaginal birth. But since she had a break out they had to do a C-section.
For an std like herpes I think it is unlikely they will let you have a vaginal birth because the risk of transmission to the baby. You could always ask your doctor hough just for peace of mind. And maybe if your not having a outbreak they could take some preventative measures. The worst thing he'll say is no and your c section is already scheduled.
I think I'm just more nervous and emotional about the c-section then anything right now. I don't want my baby catching anything I am taking the medication but still scared so on the safe side so he won't have to deal with it il go with a c-section. Just scared since I only have 2 weeks left
I would just go with the c section and pray :) that way there is no way baby could catch it and you would feel at ease in the end! Good luck :)))
if you dont have a breakout it shouldnt be a problem going vaginal but if you happen to have a breakout then yes you have to do c section...talk to your doc about your preference since baby is now head down..
no problem hope it all works out :)
There's less then 1% chance of your baby getting it. Id look into it if I were you
And your baby builds immunity to the virus
You CAN HAVE A VAGINAL BIRTH!! So please stop telling this poor girl she can't. As long as your on meds and you do not have an outbreak during delivery you can have a vaginal delivery. My step sister in law has done it twice. Talk to your doctor and good luck!!
^ thank you I will talk to my doctor more about it.
My friend has herpies and delivered her son vaginally. And is about to deliver her second the sane way... as long as she doesn't have an outbreak. As long as you don't have an outbreak you won't pass it to the baby!
Yiu can still have a vaginal birth if you take acyclovir (herpes meds) 2 weeks before delivery thats what my sister was told. She did that and had her vaginal birth.
I will talk to him more about it but most likely will go with a c-section.
Go with the c-section hun it's not that bad trust me I was so scared when I was gonna get mine it hurts pretty bad the first couple of days but it gets better after just walk and you'll heal faster. Having a vaginal birth puts your baby at risk. C-section is scary but a lot safe.
I would still talk to your doctor about it though because I'm sure he knows a lot more about your case then me and every other women commenting on this. Always good to get all the info good luck
I understand your nervous about the c section but it really isnt that bad, just make sure you get up and move around it will help with the.gas and the soreness, dont let yourself get stiff. Everything will be fine and when you see your baby it will all be worth it. Hope everything goes good for you!!
