Baby items

I am 18 weeks and am wondering what are normally things you should not wait on the baby shower to buy, or what are things you dont usually get at the shower? A lot of people have told me not to buy anything until the baby shower and honestly thats not realistic for me, I am not one to wait on people to buy things especially the expensive things?

Google "edgepark breast pump insurance" it'll say determine coverage. And it'll have you put in your state and insurance. From there it'll tell you if your insurance covers it, mine did but if you're due later they'll email you when it'll apply for you. For example I'm due August 5th and I guess it was too soon to order so I changed my date to July 5th just so i can get it quick hahah. From there you'll fill out your info your insurance card info and it'll ask for your doctors name then it'll send a confirmation email once your insurance approved it :) I'd send you the link but this app will delete my account for sponsoring websites n stuff which was such a hassle to fix

You can call your insurance company and they should be able to let you know what is covered and what isn't. My doctor prescribed me a medela double pump at the hospital after I gave birth. They even "filled my prescription there. I got a crib with a changing table and in all honesty I loved it. It made life a lot easier for late night diaper changes. Everything was right there and I didn't have to get on the floor. I used swaddling blankets as burp rags as well. You can cut them up or leave them as they are, extremely handy.

Thanks for the great advice guys! Do you happen to know the site or is it different depending on your insurance?

Yes! ^ there's a website where I found that shows my insurance covers a breast bump that alone could range up to $200 I also read from other moms that you can never have enough burping clothes, and changing tables are a waste

A crib. We didn't really have to purchase anything besides that after our baby shower. I'm down to the last bottles of baby soap, my son is going to be 3! We purchase clothes off season to save money,it saves A LOT of money. We still didn't have to purchase much clothing for the first year of our son's life. In all honesty babies don't need much. If you plan on breast feeding see if your insurance covers a pump, which saves you another major expense. Have a shower and go from there is the best way to go in my opinion.

I thankfully didn't purchase any clothes which I really wanted too but I literally have gotten so many clothes and I haven't even had my baby shower. I'd say you can probably buy big stuff crib, stroller. Since my bfs cousin is throwing me a "surprise" shower I don't expect her to buy anything big so we're buying the stroller she already gave us a brand new pack n play which my baby will be sleeping in!
