I don't understand I called the clinic to pick a pediactrician but they told me.to call back once my baby is born to make an appointment don't I have to have it ready before? I felt really stupid because I thought I had to pick a pediactrician before baby waa born but the lady told me to call back once baby is born and once the doctor tells me when baby needs to be checked!

The pediatrician you selected usually checks the baby the day they're born or the day after. I had to choose one beforehand.

Well at my hospital,  when  i was  in labor, they  asked which pediatrician  i chose. I gave  the  nurse her name. Once the  baby  is born,  the hospital  pages the  pediatrician  you chose, so they  can visit  your baby  during the  hospital  stay. A few days after my daughter  was  born,  I made  an appointment  at the  pediatricians office for  a check  up for  my daughter. I had to have  one  picked out before  my daughter  was  born

Every doctor's office is different. With my last pregnancy I didn't choose one either til after she was born.

That is weird. I had to have a pediatrician picked out to look my first one over.. if i didnt have one the doctors at the hospital could. But you are suppose to have one already.. how far along are you?
