Being denied an epidural.
I have a lower/ middle back tattoo, and I heard some doctors won't do an epidural through the tattoo. Has anyone else heard this or has anyone with a back tattoo been denied. I want a epidural. I am going to ask my Dr. But wanted to hear personal experiences first.
OK thanks my tattoo is almost ten years old lol so I don't think I'll have an issue.
My midwife said that if it's a fresh tattoo within like 3 months prior to you having the epidural, they can deny you. But depending on some hospitals, they may try to put it in above or below the tattoo to avoid infection. You have like three spots in your spine that's the epidural space. So I don't think you'd have anything to worry about.
