looking for advice!

So it turns out that I am pregnant!
I took a preg test this morning, and that makes me almost 3 weeks. I'm gonna be 18 in 2 months so I'm kind of scared. I don't really know what to do and I'm just looking for some input on what to ask drs and what to expect, !

That's a lot of information to.take in but I will deffinately do it all and keep to it. The only.thing.im really worried about is telling people that I am pregnant because I don't take reactions.well but I do have an on board boyfriend.who is willing.to be.there.for.me so.I feel blessed to have him. I'm kind of nervous about.getting.a Dr though because I want someone that.I.will be.comfortable with and who will.understand me. But.thank you for your.input it really.helps a lot and.it is.making.me.feel more comfortable with the whole being.pregnant thing.Lol

I just turned 20 and I am 29 weeks pregnant today. When I told my mom about being pregnant she flipped out and demanded me to get an abortion. I always told myself that if I got pregnant then it was meant to be, so of course I refused. I waited a few days, but my mom and I went out to eat and I explained to her how series I am about having the baby and giving it a good life. That day she completely turned around and is more than excited for the baby.
Every parent is goin to be pessimistic at first when their young daughter gets pregnant, but give it time and be persistent on showing them how serious you are and let them know that you need their help and advice but you do not expect them to raise your child. Let them know that you just love them and wan them to be there for you and support you because that will make you stronger and the baby healthier.
I would Advise you to see and obgyn as soon as possible. I chose one that was linked to my hospital because they are really nice and you are already pre registered and everything. And also if you have any complications and go to the emergency room the files are easily accessible to your doctor. Not to mention they normally have ultra sound techs and high grade equipment in the office so you don't have to travel for ultrasounds.
Start taking prenatal vitamins now. You need a vitamin that has a minimum of 800 mg of Folic Acid. You also need to take DHA supplements which are for healthy brain development and such, ou will need a minimum of 300 mg of that a day. I would advise taking these before bed after a good meal. The prenatals make you nauseous thad why doctors tell you to take them at night with a good meal.
Your only allow Tylenol for pain as of right now. Font take any medication ou may be prescribe too till you talk to your doctor.
Your not allowed to eat cold deli meat, you can't drink caffeine (it leads to misscarriage), and I would advise you to not drink or smoke.
Drink lots of Gatorade if you are sick, and I would keep crackers or something by your bed to eat in the morning.

So first thing is to go to your Dr... they should send you for prenatal bloodwork, and tell you to start taking prenatal vitamins... from there i believe they send you for a referal to the OBGYN (im not sure where you are from but that is what happens in Canada) but start at your Dr first and go from there...they can tell you your next step

Also the internet is a really good tool for info of what to expect... you can sign up to different daily emails and find out what is going on day to day along with advice to nutrition... and on that note you need to eat healthy! well balanced diet, no alcohol, decrease caffeine intake, ect... or there are books to read for what to expect also... either way there are lots of tools to educate yourself on what to expect as its a crazy ride... your body can do some pretty amazing thing and pregnancy proves it

And i think its best that if you havent and are able to, talk to your parents... they can be a big  help.... you will need a good support system to have a baby they are a lot of work and im not trying to scare you its jsut a fact no matter how old you are you need support...

good luck, and please update how your doing with appointments and stuff...
