Braxton Hicks.

I have another question =] I'll be 30 weeks preg. sat. The other day when I was doing my registry, we had to leave early bc my back was hurting me so badly. It was to the point that my boyfriend had to practically carry me out of the store. It was not a normal back ache. It felt like cramping in my lower back. It went away once we got in the car. Then last night, all night, I kept waking up bc I was cramping. My back and my abdomen. It felt like period cramps, only not as intense as mine get, (mine were REALLY bad) But I thought Braxton Hicks contractions weren't supposed to be painful? I don't know what I'm feeling. Also, I think that sometimes when the baby moves around it feels like cramping, he is really really low in my pelvis. For others to be able to feel him kick, they have to pretty much touch my pubic bone.

Real contractions would happen sporadically like that? This is my first baby so I don't know anything lol.  I mean, they could come and go without me actually being in labor? Does that make sense. I am confused. I have a dr. appt. on monday already so I was thinking I would just ask them then. But I get crampy like this on most nights while I'm sleeping. Annnndd I really hope I don't have back labor lol, bc I'm trying to go natural, and I heard back labor is worse than any other part of this whole experience.

I've also heard that BH aren't supposed to hurt. I knew when I had mine but it sounds to me like they were more real of a contraction. When you do go into labour I'm betting you'll have some back labour. Drink a nice big glass of water next time and if they don't go away then I'd do what wanabb suggested.

Braxton hicks shouldn't hurt, I would call your doctor.  It sounds like early labor and if your having contractions at 30 weeks you should call.  I started having contractions at 18 weeks my doctor said if I have more than 6 (real and BH combined) in one hour to go to the hospital.  At least then your doctor will know what's going on even if it's nothing.  good luck.
