I am breastfeeding me baby girl, she is almost 4 months old. She is my fifth child, but the first i have breastfed for longer than six weeks. I am so proud! Breastfeeding is very rewarding,  so good for baby, and for mom, too. I won't lie, it may not be easy at first, but it gets soo much easier at around 6-8 wks if you can hang in there. It is very helpful to have support from your family, too, and not have ppl pressure you to give formula. That happens too often! :(
Btw, there is a great Breastfeeding forum on here, check it out!
Congratulations and good luck!

I'm breast feeding my son, he's 8 days old! Luckily my milk came in by the second day and he's doing great...latches on well too! I did it for the benefits. I had bottle fed my other son and he got plenty of ear infections and my daughters were nursed and they never got ear infections. And it's rare they spit up too! Plus it's free! And very nutritious!

I wasn't able to breast feed much at all. Hoping I can this time. But please. Saying formula isn't good for your baby at all can easily offend and upset those of us who formula fed..its also saying stuff like that..that causes arguments. Plus it's not true. Yes breast is best and I was depressed for a month or two after failing at it. Also if it was that bad they wouldn't be allowed to sell it. My daughter is advanced..healthy..happy and very intelligent. Formula feeding has not harmed her at all. I had every intention of breastfeeding and was heartbroken when it didn't work out..so keep in mind that might happen to you and you wouldn't like to be faced with being told you're feeding your baby something that's bad for them.

hi, the breastfeeding forum here is very friendly. i hope to breastfeed my second as much as possible. i've had surgery and latching with my first was difficult. i appreciate formula since i am one of those who used and may end up using again. but i do believe that if you can and could breastfeed you should absolutely try. i'm totally jealous of breastfeeding mothers. good for you!!! i hope it works out for you.

I know you wouldn't intentionally want to upset anyone. I'm just letting you know because I've seen these kinda things start arguments.before..breastfeeding is far better but formula is fine if you can't breastfeed. It's good you're very eager to breastfeed. I hope I can better this time

breast feeding actually is the healthiest you can ever give to a baby...makes them less cranky, they sleep better, less health problems and saves you more money...if i told you whats in formula, you prolly wouldnt want to give your child formula :P i had a class on formula because i was dead set on formula feeding and im soooo i changed my mind....also the poops are wayyyy less stinkier and not as messy :)

but good luck on what ever choice you choose =]

p.s. breast feeding does help you lose weight fast and makes ya look darn good afterwards =]

i hope  i didnt make you feel that way! :( unfortunately you will hear unwanted advice....im expecting to get that once my child is born. however, you do what you think is safe for your baby and doctor approved...the hospital i go to is in the top 5% in the country :D so its one of the best and i must agree!!! theyre fantastic and make you feel good about yourself, if you cant afford a pump, they let you use theirs for 6 months for free and lower the rental cost to something affordable for you :)

i had my nipples pierced last year (took them out for the military) and now im scared milk wont come out bc i strictly want to BF

that's the thing about breastfeeding classes. they're so pro breastfeeding that they basically fill your head with negative things about formula and how it's so unhealthy. yes, breastfeeding IS best but who's to say your baby won't come out just as smart or healthy with formula :p both me and my sister were formula fed ( my family is old school portugees and don't see much of a difference ) anyways, we don't have half the things doctors say will happen to formula fed babies over breastfed.

with that said, I've done research , as I said above. And I have decided on my own to breastfeed. my family is trying extremely hard tho to discourage me from doing it :/ since I'll be the first one to actually try it. but it is healthier, and faaaaar less expensive and easier for you and baby. it's worth a shot ! Just keep an open mind, not all moms produce enough milk or their baby just won't properly latch on. so just be prepared for all that.

but please don't say you wanna give up breastfeeding all together bcos someone makes u feel dumb about it :/ I'm sure that wasn't their intention at all !
