Where did you hear that at? I use the instant hand sanitizer all the time and did during my pregnancies as well.
Anything you touch is absorbed into your body/blood stream. Painting your nails, hair dye, lotions, etc. We cannot escape anything from passing to our baby except for what we purposefully do not use or abuse.
So yes, it will pass to your baby, but as far as how harmful it can be... you'd have to use gallons for it to affect baby. Many women get worried about being in a smoke-filled restaurant or painting the nursery, but you actually have to breathe in hours of second-hand pollution, so to speak, before it really affects baby, or LIVE in that environment for it to become truly harmful.
I can only assume the same is true for hand sanitizer.
with my first one i think i done everything they say not to expt drink or smoke. i didnt know, nobody told me, i ate what i wanted any thing and everything, used diffrent face creams and stuff that i hear now your not suppose to and even painted the baby room. hes a healthy 7 yr old now, thank god. try not to tress, i can not tell you what will and wont harm it, but i think your doing fine. have a happy new yrs and congrats on your pregnacy!! : )
I use hand sanitizer all the time. I have never heard that it's bad for you. I mean, everything we use gets absorbed in our skin and can go through our blood stream. Think about some of the soaps we probably use also, I'm sure they have some chemicals in them too, but I would think you would have to use A LOT (like totally overboard!!) for it to affect you in any way. =) I think it's fine to use.
I've never heard of that! When I was pregnant I was a teacher in a low income area-I was a huge germ freak and me and my students used it daily! My 8 mo old DD is perfectly healthy!
