When I was 13 I went in with my sister for her 3rd baby. I made it half way through the birth before I had to leave. She was in sooo much pain and I guess it did scare me. Plus my sister and I were always close so it hurt me to see her in that much pain. With her next baby 2 years later I could handle it. Lol. So I guess it just depends on your kids maturity level.
Thank you for replying! I'm also thinking they should come visit a little during then leave the room and come back after delivery. My daughter is very mature for her age but she's also very sensitive and loving by nature so if anyone is in pain she is upset about it. If its me in pain she acts like she's in pain too. Best to stick with before and after I think. Thank you again.
Its a personal decision but For me it was a no. My kids wouldn't like to see me in so much pain and it would upset them way too much. I didn't let them( ages 8 and 7 )for their sisters birth. I had them there for immediately after. They were perfectly fine with that.
I say go with your intincts..I'm not sure I could have my 8 yr old in the deluvary room when my baby comes in July, but every child is diff..you know her temperment/maturity level..she may change her mind??( especially right in the room while in delivary..;-)...)
I had my oldest, who is 8yrs, in the delivery room. While I was laboring, I wasn't sure about having him in there for the actual delivery...to scary lol
