go in with an open mind you never know how your labor will be until your actually in labor i got the epidural my contractions were terrible but it didn't hurt the contractions were so painful i didn't even feel him do the epidural
Something iheard the contractions be really bad that you don't feel the needle thanks
I had the epidural 3 times so far and didn't feel it at all. You will be fine
I want to do it natural too , laying on your back is acutally the worst way to give birth and its the most painful way , you are pushing on an incline and against gravity in order to give birth which is the most exhausting and painful way to do it . Squatting is best , also on all fours , i dont know why drs dont do that in the first place . Because when the baby is head down it is a right angle turn and straight on down ready to come out .
If you look on Pinterest there are posts showing the top 12 reasons most people who don't want an epidural named I had to show it to my family because no one thinks I'll be able to do it natural
I say go natural even though you won't feel the epidural. But also I have birth position info in my journals if you'd like to take a look.
You dont feel the epidural.
Natural birth is awesome. Just absolutely incredible. Empowering and mind-blowing and the coolest thing I've ever done and I can't wait to do it again. If you want a natural birth, don't walk in saying "well I'll see how it goes and I'll try except if it hurts too much then I'll take the drugs" because it does hurt and it is really hard and there will be moments when you'll want to give up - and if you leave that door open you'll take whatever they've got. If you want a natural birth you have to walk in saying "I can totally handle this, I am strong and I am stubborn and nobody is going to take this day or this experience away from me and I will do it all on my own". Be stubborn. Tell your doctor/midwife and your partner/family member/doula/birth support that you don't want anyone talking about meds in the room. Don't offer it, don't mention it. Look into alternative pain management methods. Changing position, a warm shower, birthing tub, massage, counterpressure, hypnobirthing, etc. I didn't try all of them but different things work for different people. It's a wonderful thing to experience and I absolutely cannot wait to do it again.
Awwwwww thankyou that uplifted my heart people make it seem bad like im going to really need it iheard it's no point of getting :it because you can still feel everything im gonna go with my mind say go natural
Congratulations that paragraph helped me
All I will add is I had an epidural and with the amount of pain I was already in I didn't feel a thing, at that point no needles could hurt me. It's not scary at all the size of the needle didn't even freak me out. And as soon as they put it in I went completely numb and didn't feel anything after that I gave birth and didn't even feel that. It defiantly works but if you arecconsidering going natural more power to you. Everyone has different experiences with the epidural, my sister started leaking spinal fluid after she gave birth from the epidural and they has to do a procedure because her blood wouldn't clot afterwards and my sister in law only got numb on half of her lower body and still felt everything. There are other options as well for the pain but like I said everyone's story will be different.
I hate needles to much I start shaking and I have to clench my teeth and look away but once I was in labor and dilated to a 5 it was already unbearable enough I was hollering and getting impatient for the epidural nurse to get in there and I was already in enough pain the needle didn't hurt, just felt like a pinch. Then I was in heaven. I pushed my baby girl out with a smile on my fave and tears of joy. No pain whatsoever. However without that 2 second pinch of the needle I would have felt it all and in the end of pushing her out while my almost 9 lb baby pushed through my tight vaginal and 1st degree tear on my labia. Trust me it won't be hard to choose! :)
