No problem! I didn't learn any of this until after my first daughter and most of it after my second daughter. I've also had 2 miscarriages (both conceived on first try using CM method of determining ovulation).
My rule is to BD when there is any CM, especially if it is around the fertile time. And just keep BDing every night until you dry up again.
Thanks to you both!
Joy, I'll definitely make a point of monitoring my CM more closely...I guess because this is technically my first time trying to conceive (DS was a very happy surprise!), I've got a few things to learn :-)
I agree with Mumita. Not reliable at all especially as everyone's body is so different. There's not really any standard that all women can follow.
Although I do think that monitoring your cervical DISHARGE is the most reliable way to determine ovulation (or lack thereof, like in my case). I started monitoring my CM after my first daughter was born. I conceived my second daughter on the first try using this method. After she was born, because of all the charting I had done, I knew something was wrong when I didn't have any CM at all.
Turns out I had a fertility problem. Took over 13 months to conceive but once I started having CM again I conceived on the first shot.
Not everyone will get pregnant on the first try but it's definitely the most reliable way to conceive and to monitor your fertility.
Don't put that much faith in the cervical position. All women are different all of our bodies change at different times and...well its just not as reliable as temperature and OPK's.
