High temp and charting

I was wondering if your temp goes when your close to having AF? Just wondering...I took my temp this morning and it was at 98.0 and I'm not due for AF till the 20th. Don't really want to get my hopes up!

Yes thats right, normally your temp after ovulation goes up from your baseline, so your temp can sorta go up and down as long as its above the baseline, for example, mine goes up for 5 days str8 then takes a dip and goes back up, then as AF approaches, its starts to go down and keeps going down until my baseline is reached.

But you need at least 3 cycles to get a feel for what your baseline is and whats going on during the time after you ovualte. Just be consistent when you do it, im a little upset bcuz i didnt take my temp the last 3 days i think bucz i didnt get enough sleep(need 4-5 hours of uninterrupted sleep) i was hoping if i took it today and it went up i would have high hopes but i didnt so i guess i will see if Af shows 2mrw.  I wont test unless im 3 days late.  Good luck to you and SSBD

The day your AF is going to start your temp. should plummet. If it rises again around 10 DPO then it could indicate a possible pregnancy. I would watch for another rise or it just staying high. But you will know from your temp. when your AF will come. Hope this is helpful.

No ~ temps drop when AF is due to arrive! If it remains high it could be a good indicator of lots of work going on inside :)
