If you wanted the baby to sleep with you, you could try a bassinet next to your bed. I have the arms reach one, and its very nice and sturdy (I put it up to test it out and its also portable) and when your baby can start sleeping through the night the side raises and you can move it wherever and even to their own room. Its just another option to a crib, it also is for up to 5/6 months or til they learn to push up on their own and I believe it said they hold up to 30 lbs.

id say crib..though i decided with my first that she'd sleep beside me, i got scared when i stood up to pee and she might move or something.. so after that i bought a crib.. so this time with my second..definitely buying another crib..
