njeosys, thank you for the information it helps alot. you said birth control could mess up my body, so could this be the reason for the "symptoms" i am having such as cramps, because i am really curious why i continuously have had htem for over 2 weeks. and as a said before i took a test and it came out negative. thanks for the help again!
I want to say one last thing. I just want to clarify that sperm can live outside the body. Doctors take sperm samples from men all the time to use to artificially inseminate women who have fertility problems. Sperm can live outside the body, however I do not have an exact estimation of how long sperm can live outside the body, but I'm sure it is hours to even a couple days until they are frozen. They use sperm in petri dishes to fertilize eggs.
Therefore, sperm on a finger could get you pregnant.
I'd be interested to know where you got the information that sperm cannot live on a finger and not make it to its destination if those sperm-covered fingers were to touch a vagina.
lilburrito, you keep posting this message every day. Just take a pregnancy test if you're worried. If it is negative or you get a period, don't worry anymore. You're probably not pregnant. There is a SLIGHT chance you could be, as sperm can live for 3 days and the egg only lives up to 48 hours. You only have a 48 hours window to conceive in a cycle. You generally ovulate 16 days before your expected period, so do the math.
Also, birth control can mess with your body. You might not have ovulated at all (that is possible). My sis-in-law has a condition where she doesn't ovulate every month. She may only ovulate twice a year. It is actually not that uncommon.
We can't tell you if you're pregnant or not. Take a preg. test.
Thanks. and i stopped taking the pill because my boyfriend and i broke up and i wasnt planning on being sexually active anymore for a while. do you know what the cramps could be from though?
I would not worry about being preggo, as sprem on a finger being able to survive is nearly impossible, let alone make all the way to it's final destination. Your menstrual cycle is probably off due to stopping the pill. Did you stop taking it for any certain reason? I would do another HPT or 2 just to make sure, and if you're really nervous, make a Dr.'s appt. (they have to keep it confidential if you are nervous about doing so b/c of your parents/guardian finding out, so don't worry about that). Good luck.
