12wk U/S showed bowel on outside of baby

my friend is very worried she had an ultrasound today and it showed alot of bowel on the outside of the babys body! I am just wondering if anyone has any information on this or hav been in this boat before anything would be help full!

like the intestines? i know around 12 weeks they move from the umbilical cord to the abdomen. sometimes they do not move and stay on the outside of the baby. if it stays this way, she will most like need to have a c section and the baby will need to have surgery after birth to put in abdomen. even in this worst case senerio, the baby should be ok after surgery from what i have read.

did the doc give her any insight at all?

No they didn't the have refered her to the mater and they are not going to contact her for atleast 2wks to me that seems to long to wait for a piece of mind she has been on the Internet all night
