Discomfort, pressure, achy rib cage

The top of my left ribcage I sometimes get this achy pain right under my left breast, it feels like a bruised rib cage or something. I dont know what it is I asked the OB and she said that its not the baby, that its way too soon. It;s very very uncomfortable and starting to move to my back on the same side. It's throbbing. What else could it be/? Anyone else experience this during pregnancy?? I'm only 14weeks

I started getting the same pain around weeks 18-20.  From what I've read and from what my doctor told me, it is very normal.  It wasn't the baby, as she was still too small to reach that high, but it was everything re-arranging itself in there, ie all the organs and muscles.  For me, it hasn't really gone away.  I'm at 36 weeks now.  If anything, it gets a little worse, haha.  Hopefully for you it'll go away.  It did for my sister.

Wow.. I am having this exact same pain right under my left breast as we speak. Some times it feels like I am being punched in the ribs( Never been punched in the ribs, but I assume that's how it would feel like..;) )

It started on Sunday and speeling on my right side is impossible cos the pain is too much. I don't think it's the baby either as my uterus at this stage is way below the point that hurts.
I am 28wks tomorrow and hope to ask the doctor what the heck is up with me on Friday at my next appointment. I know it's REALLY painful and good to hear you are having some relief.

TY ladies! It has lessened now, my back still hurts now and again in the same spot (top of the ribcage), which is a little more bearable for me then the front& I will ask about going to a chiropractor Thanks again :)

Do you see a chiropractor? Your rib may be slightly out of place...many women visit chiropractors when they are pregnant because of things shifting and such and it really helps.

I've had something very similiar with 2 out of 3 of my pregnancies so far. It's like a dull ache right under my breast. But it's very uncomfortable and sometimes downright painful. I usually don't get it until my 3rd trimester though. She's right, I don't think it's the baby but instead a nerve from a growing uterus probably pushing everything up. For me it got worse when I laid down and caused a lot of troubled sleep. I hope it goes away!

I had a similar issue but I chalked it up to it being part of milk production, hormones, basically the bodies way of preparing the body during pregnancy. As always check with your doctor. Good luck!! :)
