Doctors office rant.

So last week I went for just a normal check up. And since in the computer system they still had the wrong due date, I had to do the glucose test with no warning. I had a pop tart that morning, and later on around lunch I had a whole thing of gatorade and a fruit roll-up. So of course my sugar levels were even higher after drinking the drink they made me drink. I finally got in touch with them today and was told I need to come in for the 3 hour test. I explained to her that my test last week was by surprise so of course I failed, and would like to re-test. But they won't let me. I wouldn't mind but I'm to the point in my pregnancy where I can't go long without food or I'll get sick. And having my blood drawn three times will not help.

Yeah i had 4 draws also at the 3 hour. One before the drink and then one every hour after. I did mine 1st thing in the am so it was easier. Thats silly they just dod it. I got to just show up to a different office with a lab between certain weeks. I could see how that could screw with results.

Every place needs to do that test. So much easier and time saving.

At my clinic they just do a 2 hr test the first time so u dont hafta get retested if its high.  Thats that.

The lady told me 3 times. It is early in the morning but I'm hungry every hour or less. It's just gonna be a long day.

If they do a surprise test next time I definitely will!

I failed the first one too and passed the second. Its not so bad if you can go early in the morning that way you don't end up having to fast as long. The drink helped a little to make my tummy feel full while I was in there too. And just a heads up during the three hour test they draw your blood 4 times, not 3.

Wow that really *****, i would be upset too! well remember in the future u can refuse tests like that and do it on a different day.

Yep. But she acted like it wouldn't affect the results and I knew it would.
