This is my second time giving birth. I didnt have epidural with first and labor lasted a lucky 5 hours. Gosh i dont think my little and already tired body could handle a labor any longer. I ask myself, continue being pregnant or suffer being induced and its all over. Very nervous but il know this week if they will induce me or not. Thanks ladies just wanted to make sure being induced was going to be rite for me.

It hurts like hell.. It's no picnic. People who get the epidural usually say its not that bad... And everyone's experiences are different. They can be longer labors.. Mine was 12 hours from start to finish, I didn't have any pain meds or epidural.. In my opinion you have a greater chance of a longer labor with an epidural especially when induced and also statistically higher chance of emergency c section.. But whatever you choose will be right for you..

It didnt hurt me until after the broke my water and the real contractions started. All it is really is that you get hooked up to an IV and they give you doses of pitocin as needed. They have a pain killer that works wonders too - not an epidural - I had to have it with my first because of how she was positioned. Made it excruciatingly painful for them to check my cervix. The pain med they gave me made me so sleepy and I slept through them checking lol.

They gave me an epidural before breaking my water though.
