I'm pregnant with my first child , 20 weeks, right now I'm 27. Took the blood test to see what chances are for my little girl to have DS . According to my doctor I'm high risk for my age at (1:287.) I'm so worried I can't sleep , i just don't know what to do .

I think you should really seriously think about it. Maybe research more or look at forums that discuss parenting a child with DS. Can you handle it emotionally?  Its, easy to say you will love your child regardless but raising a healthy child is challenging a child with down syndrome is even a bigger responsibility. I'm sorry it's a hard decision

Thank you ladies , I will love my baby girl regardless . I just don't want my baby girl to have a hard life .

I didn't get that test done for exactly  that teason, alot of the times it is just unnecessary  worrie  but also if my baby were to be born with DS I would not love it any less I would just deal the best way that I could. I hope the best for you hun stay strong and just be prepared

Also told my mom I was to have DS. My aunt was told her youngest was also was going to have DS. Neither of us have it. My mom took a chance on me. That is a risk you would have to take. It is a big task though. Most people that have kids with DS say they wouldn't change their child for the world. It doesn't mean its been easy just worth it. Just remember you will love your baby regardless :)
