Are there any risks involved in this procedure to turn a breech baby head down?

Thanks for the responses! I am 36 weeks and my doctor suggested i have the ECV next week at 37 weeks. I am happy to hear that your baby turned. How did you get it to turn at 36 weeks?

I almost had to have one, and I talked to my doctor about the pros and cons.
Only thing he said that they were concerned about is that a baby can become stressed; but that's why they have a constant moniter to keep tabs on baby. He also mentioned that they don't always know where the cord is, and they'd use the ultrasound to ensure it didn't wrap around baby. Those were really the only "bad" things he talked to me about.

From what he's told me, a close friend has said and videos I've seen; it looks like an option I would've 100% opted for. Just ask your doctor more about it though :)

How far are you? My baby just turned last week and I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow.

Twisting or squeezing of the umbilical cord, reducing blood flow and oxygen to the fetus.

The beginning of labor, which can be caused by rupture of the amniotic sac around the fetus (premature rupture of the membranes, or PROM).

Placenta abruptio, rupture of the uterus, or damage to the umbilical cord. The potential exists for such complications, but they are very rare.
