Early Period...One Day Duration

My husband and I have been TTC for a couple of months. I have been off the pill for the past 6 months. This month I started my "period" 2 days early. I last only 3/4 of a day and was very light and dark. Completely abnormal for me. I generally have a 4-5 day period that varies in consistancy and flow (the ususal stuff). However, the day before my "early period" started I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. The only other possible pregnancy symptoms I have been feeling are a bit of nausea (no vomiting) and I had light but constant cramping a day or two before this "early period" arrived. Oh and I have been extremely moody (not pleasant for my husband). How long should I wait to take another pregnancy test? My actual period is not due for another day. I am hesitant to take another test and see a negative so I want to wait as long as possible (if I can hold out) to be sure. Any advise?

Since I made this post, I have had on and off  "spotting". My period was officially 2-3 days late. I would spot for a few hours and then nothing. Friday evening I finally began to see signs of my normal "starting my period" pattern. Now I think AF has finally arrived. I'll give it a few more days and see. However, I have thought that I was starting a few times this week and have only become more frustrated.

I hear ya Mishy about this spotting, cramping and just all over inconsistancy of everything. I wouldn't worry too much since you are not ttc and on some ovulation time table. However, if things still seem wierd to you, I would wait till a day or two after you are scheduled to start your period and take a test. If you get a negative but still feel wierd then  I would talk to a doctor. Since I have never had a miscarriage before I (not that I know of anyway) I am not sure of any tale-tell signs. If you think you had sex around the time of your possible ovulation (approx 14 days after your last period) then there might be a possiblity.

Hope all goes well with you and you get back on track soon. I guess some months our bodies want to make things interesting for our minds and play these aweful tricks.

Right now i'm experiencing something similar. We are not trying to conceive but we got a little carried away right in the time i was ovulating and they say the sperm can stay there fro days, so i'm thinking if an egg is there to be fertilized iot will be right? Anyhoo i sarted feeling bloated and irritable my breasts were killing me so i started to think i'm pregnant, I mean i have to be. Then on Wednesday i got into an argument with a friend and in th middle of it i just felt a sharp pain then i started cramping and when i got home i was spotting then later on early the next morning i was having heavy cramping and a little clotting but later on in the day no more cramping and now it just brown spotting. Could it be the stressful situation that i was in that cause a miscarriage? because this is not a usual period for me my period is not due until this Saturday.

wait a week, and if a "normal" period doesnt happen, then test again....if negative, i'd have blood work done after another week.....

I would wait until your period is a day late just to make sure. You may have ovulated a little later and had implantaion bleeding or it may have just been an abnormal period. either way good luck.
