Epsom salt?

So I hear this can bring on contractions.I am 3cm dilated my doc says if I come in before Monday with contractions he will induce. And nothing else is working!! Has anyone had success with these?

You can mix it with water as a laxative. It says so on directions so it's not dangerous to ingest

I've never heard of using the salt before. If you do use it let me know how it goes.

I didnt know u could bathe in it during pregnancy, thats good news, i just assumed u couldnt.

They don't do anything but make your skin soft.

Bathing in it is actually common in pregnancy because it can greatly help reduce swelling. There are several different ways to use it, and all have different implications. Magnesium sulfate (Epsom salts) in liquid form is actually used intravenously to slow preterm labor and help with the effects of eclampsia... I don't think I would ingest it either. Doesn't sound like the safest idea.

Star3789 actually in order to induce labor that's how they take it, orally... It has been used orally as a laxative,/which can stimulate contractions, however its quite dangerous. You can very easily throw off your body's electrolyte balance because Epsom salt is magnesium.

I know a lot of ppl who judge on the Castro oil but I did 3 oz with 2 oz pineapple juice, with my first and my sister in law did it with all 3 of hers and it worked just throwing it out there.

Isn't Epsom salt toxic if ingested? How would that work for inducing?

Yeah the warning is because it can start labor for some people Lol. Which is what I want so I'm not worried about the warning

u better ask your dr before using that, i think there is a warning on the carton for if ur prego?
