Thanks for replying! I am do some simple yoga at home before my exercise bike as a warmup. My library has a prenatal yoga book - I don't have energy to get to the gym. I am learning to gauge my exercise as per how I am feeling that day. Exercise does help with morning sickness I have noticed - clears estrogen!!
please please keep yourself hydrated. You need to adjust your exercise program somewhat as some may obviously be harmful to your baby. There may also be stretches you do normally that may not be suitable for when you are pregnant.
A good idea might be a prenatal yoga class. Just pop down to your local gym and ask any instructor if they can teach prenatal yoga. You'll get a workout, plenty of good stretches and it will help with back pain. Plus you have supervision to make sure you are doing everything correctly.
Have a look at www.pregnancyandexercise.org, there's some good tips there.
Hope that helps,
Mary
Thanks girls for replying. i did notice that any exercise after 4pm will cause extra thirst that night.
Diane - Iow blood sugars can also be a cause of thirst - most webpages just talk about the diabtes end of thirst but the same is true for low blood sugars. Try a slow release carb with protein ner bedtime and see if this won't help. I know that thirst can be a real pain! Also cutting back on dairy can lower your estrogen and minimize thirst.
Any more suggestions on exercise anyone?
Mona
I've ready to keep on with what you're used to. A stationary bike should be fine. I've been waking up thirsty every morning no matter how much water I have the day/night before- I think that's normal in (early) pregnancy.
Not pregnant yet, but I read about this and most every pregnancy website says that women should try for 30 min. of low impact excercise a day, and just be sure that your heart-rate doesn't get too high. It also said to rest when your tired, and drink plenty of fluids.
