First time mom.

I am so confused with this fetal age and gestational age?

My fetal age is 3 weeks and my gestational age is 5 weeks. What one do you go by when referring to your pregnancy? And what one would your first ultrasound show .. The fetal age or gestational age?

you go by the gestational age. it is confusing but the thing is there's an extra two weeks. this is because pregnancy is said to begin as soon as your period is over and your egg drops. but the baby doesn't start a heartbeat and become viable as a fetus until after two weeks if you have sex and the egg is fertilized.
