Flea meds for cat 24w pregnant

Well my boyfriends mom just got a new kitten. Adorable! But she had fleas so we had to give her and my adult cat medicine. I'm wondering if by petting and interacting with her while the medication is still on her fur can harm my baby? Anyone have any advice? I was my hands everytime after I touch either cat

I got 5.
The biggest one I have had is my 18ft Carpet Python... LOL..

I will be holding the snake, he is cleaning her out, I have a baby in the way and cant get down to her cage! I will just put Boo on my light and she will swing off it!! Then refuse to come down!! LOL

I dont know if you can get it in the US but there is a product called Skoosh for the house, Which is safe for animals and people.

the cats dont leave me alone :(. right now I have all 8 on my lap. LOL... and I need to clean out my snake as I finally got my alcohol gel. I might get John to do it tomorrow! I am too tired. lol. Plus she bit me Yesterday... so I aint talking to her!

LOL... You can touch them, just wash your hands or use hand sanitizer

Thanks! We didn't do the house just the cat and new kitten. I'm not sure what brand it was my bf's mom got it from the vets office. You can't even tell where we put the drops on either cay anymore either. So I think it's ok. I stil don't pet them or hold them barely at all right now cause I'm still a little paranoid. Lol

You shouldnt go near the De flea treatment UNLESS it is PESTICIDE FREE!! Which is what I do!

I have 8 cats, we do the house and cats every other weeek just incase cause I am allergic to fleas. Hoover daily.

But if the Flea treatment for the housee ISNT Pesticide free you cant be in the house for up to 6 hrs!

But you can get pesticide free house AND cat treatment, Pesticide free IS ANIMAL and PEOPLE SAFE! :)

You shouldn't touch the cats after you apply the medication on them for a couple hours, pregnant or not. Pets should be given this medication monthly to prevent heartworms and fleas.

Thanks!  I'm going to call in the morning. I dont have the package or papers that came with it cause his mom just gave us the little plastic dropper to put on her fur. but that wouldve been a good idea.

like clysta said i would call your doctor and be sure. Also in the papers that come with the meds  you can read the warnings, almost everything like that, with have a warning section about what to do if ingested etc and if its been tested to be bad around pregnant woman then it will say so or should.

Hm. I'm not too sure. I know we treated our three cats when I was still pregnant every month and I personally never had any problems. I wouldn't imagine it would cause problems, but you can speak to your doctor to make sure.
