Too far to Switch doctors

I am 36 weeks and 6 days. I am now having my weekly check ups but my doctors office doesn't do anything but weigh me take my blood pressure and check for baby's heartbeat.

I'm just concerned that they aren't doing enough to make sure that my son is healthy due to the fact that I had a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy and I've been working non stop up until this week in the heat and walking non stop .

My doctor told me it was to early to go on maternity leave and that I would have to deal with it . He did give me a note saying I would have to take a break every 2 hours due to too much walking and my legs going numb but my job can not accommodate your needs to the ones they needed , I explain that to my doctor but he simply just told me there is nothing they could do.

Hey! Just wanted to share my experience.

I changed ob when I was 35 weeks along. My first doctor was an obnoxious b*tch! My hubby and I were so tired of her.. She knew I wanted to see someone else cause I asked her to make a report on how the pregnancy had been, the tests results, etc. she said she wouldn't give me that until week 35. So.. At week 34 I found this doctor I absolutely adore, I took her the report and spent the last weeks visiting with her.
The midwife would monitor the baby and my blood pressure, then I would see the doctor and have an ultrasound done.
She gave birth to my little girl and everything was perfect.
So my advice, change ob. You'll be more comfortable and your labor will go smoother

You can go on maternity leave at 36 weeks and apply for disability. He's not giving you correct info.

Your doctor is doing exactly what they're supposed to do at your appointments. There's not much else they can do.

I'm 39 weeks and that's pretty much how they've all been since 36 weeks. Check blood pressure, weight, babies heart beat measures me, checks cervix and I'm out. Literally in the waiting room longer than my whole appointment. If you're having a healthy pregnancy than that's pretty much all they will do

You can switch doctors whenever you want. Its not too late. You feel this ob isnt meeting your needs and listening to you so make the switch i say.

I assume from your subject line, you're asking if it's too late to find a new ob? The answer is no. It's never too late to find a new ob. But you'll want to do it quick since you're so close to your due date. If you feel yours isn't doing enough, by all means find a new one.
