I want to get PREGNANT!

My husband and I are planning to get pregnant soon. I have two daughters, 7 & 5 from a previous marriage. This is my husbands first marriage and first biological child. I have tried to do a lot of research to see when I should stop my b/c pills. I talked to my doc but I thought I would post on here and she what info I could get.

If possible I don't want to give birth until after Nov. 1st 2008. It needs to be after this time because I will have all my leave from work available. I won't have anything in terms of leave, until then, due to a recent surgery.

My past two pregnancy's were good. No complications. I gave birth within a week of my due date.

I am now taking Quansense birth control. It is the generic of Seasonale. I only have 4 periods a year. I was supossed to take my last pill Dec. 18th and have a period for a week and start the pills again. Since we want to have the baby in Nov. I figured i need to conceive in the middle to end or February. My doc said not to stop pills on Dec.18th. Start a new pack and take pills until end of January. He said I would have my period and be able to conceive the next week.

He also started me on prenatal vitamins. I'm very excited! Do I have the timing right? If my last pill is Jan. 31st 2008 what days am I most likely to get pregnant?

How about getting off the pill now to let your body regulate...just use condoms...then getting pregnant will depend on when you ovulate...it may take a couple months!

after one cycle i was back to normal :-)  i know it can take some women up to 6 months so i planned ahead and got off in april, even though i didn't start trying till late aug.  like njeosys says, you need to start to learn your cycle.  i was on the pill for 10 years so i was used to the 28 days from that.  i learned from charting my cycle (which i highly recommend) that my true cycle is, in fact, 40 days!!! ahhhh!!!!!!  what a waiting game!  i also recommend the book "taking charge of your fertility" to everyone.  that, along with this forum, helped me a lot!  best of luck to you!

You'd have to begin a normal cycle first. Then you need to find out how long those cycles are (some women have 27-32 days cycles). Then you'd have to figure out when you ovulate.
