Getting your body ready.



So, here I am 34w with my 3rd, I have always seen the stuff on the internet about getting your self ready for labor, getting your cervix ready and ect. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried any of this stuff. I was looking at the evening primrose oil and the red raspberry tea. Both just to help with the softening  the cervix and it says for a faster/easier birth. Both of my boys were induced labors (38-39w) And I am hoping to go on my own this time around. This might sound funny but part of me thinks my body wont know what to do and I’ll just end up being induced anyways.  

I am a little nerves to try the EPO, as I cant see myself putting tabs up my Vjaja over night… LOL I know you can use it was an oil and just massage down there…But from what I have read its better the other way.


So if anyone as tried any of this Or anything else Can you give me some pointers??

For the EPO, how far up do you have to put the tabs if doing it like that? Which way is better do you think?

Yes the evening primrose oil works great to prepare and to put you in labor when it is time. ALthough you are not supposed to use either till week 36! The evening primrose oil puts most into labor with in 48 hours if done after week 37. It is dangerous to do to early. The tea is great and relaxes and prepares also. Now the dosage is 1000mg of the oil twice a day till week 38 then you can use it every 4 hours. You can get the oil or gelcaps and break them open and use them like that. If you sit on the toilet it is easiest to reach yoru cervix and the best but you can use it on your labia if you can't. Also if your water has not broken DH can do it with clean ahnds and under the nails to. Just tell him to not push and be soft and gentle. No nails that can cut as it is easy to do that!!! Now you will feel contractions afterwards!! IN the delivery room it si good to use to strech the perinium so you have no tearing. Let the baby go down and up as long as it needs and your body push  on its on with NOT counting! Counting and the nurses telling you will only deprive you and the baby of needed oxygen and is plain not needed. YOur body will push and when the head is finally coming out when your contraction peaks you can give a little push and out they come with very little effort! I swear by it!!!! Also if you do NOT push in the lithomy position on your back scrunched forward is better! That position means that bay has to come down then up around your tail bone and it casues more tearing and pain! Squating, side laying, hands and knees, standing with your body falling into your partners arms, in the water is best! I had my tail bone broke by that position and 12 years later still have problems! The other two I squated even though they said I couldn't and loved it. The other one was a c-section emergency. This next  one I plan on doing what feels right at the time just the same no matter what they say and if they don't want to catch him then I will or my husband will. Sorry I went off a little but not many woman know these things and midwives and doulas are who teach it most often. OB's just like the straight method and to keep you in bed the whole time. Except for the few and far in between good ones.
