Most 3D/4D ultrasound places can do a gender determination scan at 17 weeks. But that's mainly just to know the sex. The good pictures have to be taken later on, from 24-32 weeks.
you have to have your doctors permission for a 3d 4d ultrasound for gender determination. they have a form. i did it at 16 weeks and they were correct. my doctor just signed the form. then i went back at 29 weeks to see his facial features but they do have gender determination packages as long as your OB signs the form saying its ok. they pretty much do that because there have been times before that they found problems with the baby and they are not doctors so they pretty much want your doctor to approve it and they want proof of your 12 week US
Hi there, I had my 3D u/s 2weeks ago at 26weeks. I was advised to come between 26-29wks as any earlier than that the pictures will not be as good. Although I was super anxious to go sooner, now I am really glad that we went at the time we did cos the pictures are so great and it feels like I am look at my babies face.
If you are only looking for gender determination, I am not sure what the time line is.
Since this U/S cost quite a bit of money (it did where I live in Canada) I would much rather wait until at least after 26wks so that you can get some great pictures of the baby as well. Good luck!
it just depends on the doctor if they haven't done it in any previous ultrasounds with you then they probably won't tomorrow either..my ultrasound tech just converted the image to 3d for just a minute or two. my actual paid for 4d one will be in a month.
Well I am going for my 12 week u/s tomorrow. I'm not sure what to expect; but if I get a 3D or 4D u/s done I will certainly let you know. Not sure when they do it since this is my first pregnancy. The ladies above me obviously have more experience.
well i have my official one at 28 weeks but my past ultrasounds at my doctors office they have taken a good profile picture and frozen it, then turned it into 3d. so ive seen her 3d a couple times already. at 12 weeks the sex couldn't be seen and at 15 weeks the tech guessed it was a girl but they wont be able to know for sure until at least 18 weeks but probably 20. and its best to schedule an official 3d/4d ultrasound when your at least 28 weeks.
Yea most places say its best to do them at 28 to 32 weeks. I'm sure they could fell you, but I don't know if they would see you until later, and like the rest of the girls said, you'll probably want to wait to further along, cause you'll get amazing pics. I know its hard to wait, It seemed like it took forever for me.. I have a 3d u/s scheduled for the 18th, next Thursday. I'm so thrilled, Ill be 29 weeks so its perfect.....
Most 3D/4D ultrasound offices will do a gender determination if you are 17 weeks or more. When I was doing research to locate an office near me that was what I kept coming across. This didn't work for me at all because I was scheduled for my anatomy scan at a little over 18 weeks anyway. So I just decided to save the 3D/4D for later in my pregnancy. By the time you're 17 weeks though, there's only 3 more weeks to wait. I never came across any that would do it before 17 weeks. Also, at all of the places near me the gender determination package was cheaper than the regular packages but not by much at all. I know it's hard waiting, but it may be best just to wait it out to find out the gender and do a 3D/4D when you're further along and can get good pics of your baby that will be closer to what s/he will look like at birth.
I had one with my NT scan at 12 weekds 5 days and you couldn't see the sex yet. I have heard around 15 weeks you can see though.
Most places that do 3D or 4D ultrasounds require that you're the 20 weeks along. Someone said about 26-32 weeks along is the best range to get good pics.
None of the places around me would take someone who's 15 weeks.
