Glucose Test,Any Advice?

I'm Taking My Glucose Test On The 30th I'm Really Nervous This Is My First Pregnancy How Will It Go??What Do iDo??

Fruit punch wasn't terrible.  Kinda like Koolaid and Gatorade mixed. I took one at almost 13 weeks because I am high risk but I passed and I take it again on wednesday. Dont eat food rich in sugars or carbs before you go. Friend of mine at a bowl of cereal before she went in and failed. She had to do it again a week later but passed with flying colors because she had fasted.

i had mine today. i had the orange drink. i was freaking out all week. honestly its not bad at all. well not like i thought it would be. i just took big gulps....i didnt smell it and i tried not to think too much about it. but its not as bad as you think.

The clear is super nasty.I haven't had the fruit punch but I did also have the orange and it wasnt too bad. My advice is to chug it down and not think about it because if you puke you will have to drink another whole bottle. Normally you get five minutes to drink it.I just held my nose and started drinking so I couldn't hardly taste it.good luck

I had mine today I had the Orange and to me it just tasted like flat sunkist soda it was very thick though but it wasn't bad to me at all..but everybody has a different experience so just see how it goes

I heard a lot of bad stories about the test but mine went quite nice and i had a good experience i got there at 8am they pricked my finger and took my blood my # was 86 then she gave me the drink i got fruit punch had to drink it in 5 mins then i waited an hour they took blood from my left arm then waited another hour and they took blood from my right arm ..i never felt sick or light headed or anything i was more tired then anything because im not a morning person lol my sister went with me and while waiting we walked around the hospital to pass the time i did the 2 hour test but overall it was a good experience i hope yours is as well!

Bring a straw! It was way easier for me to drink it fast through a straw, I chose lemon lime and I actually kind of liked it, it was really sweet but not horrible, kind of tasted like a sweet flat sprite. The worst part about the whole glucose test was that you have to fast before you take it

Have positive thoughts. The drink to me wasn't nasty. I actually liked it lol. But your doctor will tell you specific instructions but you pretty much have 5 minutes to drink this really sugary drink. And after about an hour they draw your blood. It's to test for gestational diabetes.

You doc will give you an instruction sheet or verbally tell you what to do when they give you the drink. I chose fruit punch... gross lol you have to drink it so fast I almost puked about 3 times it was super sweet cold and kind of thick:( I knew I'd have to do it again if I did throw up so my bf set a timer and cheered me on lol good luck
