My son is a week and a half old and always wanna keep on sucking just to fall asleep. Once he slows down on sucking I just put my pinky in his mouth to try and break the grip he has and pull my nipple out and swaddle him he will lay there and go right back to sleep with out me having to rock him and sometimes he will try and break his hands loose just to suck on his hands. So il just give him a pacifier and he will go back to sleep. Try it. My lil man ***** on his thumb sometimes but I wanna break him out of that NOW so I give him a paci.
My lactation specialist told me to try not to introduce pacifiers or bottles until they are at least a month old. I know other people do but what she said really made sense that baby's mouths are very impressionable and she said by introducing the breast, a pacifier and a bottle too fast will just confuse them. And could possible make them reject your breast. Best of luck to you and what ever choice you make :)
I breastfed my son he had a paci since day one
I gave my baby a paci and he got nipple confusion..Every baby is different.
I've never heard not to give them one. I took a breastfeeding class with my first and babies have to fulfill their sucking needs. My son used me as a pacifier and it was exhausting...he was latched 24/7 because he wasn't happy with a pacifier. BUT it's good for them to have one so they can use it to satisfy their sucking needs instead of using you 24/7. I say if your baby takes it then great! Just made sure your baby isn't wanting to be latch more because of a growth spurt because then you want them to latch to increase your milk supply to meet their needs.
They say not to give binky until they are used to breastfeeding. So if she is feeding well id go for it.
Lol...she jus greedy...lol....u can give her a binkie if u want...go with your instinct. and see what works for you
