Tested Negative..Any hope left for this month?

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant.  I have PCOS so we use ovulation tests to tell when to try because me periods are not regualar.  The ovluations tests were positive from my prime days from Jan 1-3.  I tested (AGAIN) this morning and still got a negative test result.  Do you think there is still a chance I could be pregnant?  I am losing hope fast!

Well, I got my AF yesterday. :(  BUT, it means that I had my period three months in a row for the first time in a year so I was excited about that.  I am on metformin, but not birth control because we are TTC.  I am exercising and eating right, plus taking a prenatal and extra folic acid.  We have been trying for almost 6 months now.  I am hoping that next month will be our month.

Since I got my period 15 days after the ovulation test said I was ovulating do you think that I did indeed ovulate?  I was thinking that I did and that actually gives me hope!  We were told we were going to never have children and needed to have 9-12 months of trying before we could start fertility treatments and with our daughter the FIRST month of using ovulation tests I got pregnant!  My miracle baby.

With PCOS and endometriosis some people say we are pushing our luck trying for another, but I really want to expand our family.  Thank you for all your responses.

Oh, and take a prenatal and folic acid. That will help!

I have PCOS and the problem with the OPKs and PCOS is that your hormones are all over the place with this condition. OPKs test for the LH surge. Well, with PCOS you might have an LH surge but not ovulate.

It's important to find out if you're even ovulating. If you're not, then you'll be able to try Clomid or Femara to conceive. Hopefully you are. But honestly I wouldn't trust the OPKs.

Are you taking Metformin/Glucophage or any other medications? Are you exercising and eating correctly? How long have you been TTC? Have you tried taking low-dose birth control get your cycles a "jumpstart"?

This will all make a big difference in helping you conceive. Let me know if you need/want any other information!

Yes, it might be a bit too early to tell. Try testing when you think you missed your next period. Have you been to the doctor for treatment?  They can give you meds to help you ovulate. Also, taking vitamin D supplements have shown to have helped women with PCOS. Good luck!
