So I found i had HPV a few months ago and it was a pretty ad case so my doctor decided to do the laser surgery and remove a large area of cells from my cervix. Has anyone else ever went through this? I keep having people tell me that it will lower my chances of becoming pregnant again. And I really want another kid so this is making me really sad and I don't know what to think??

Hi!  I had the LEEP done because of HPV and I am proof you can get pregnant still!  I had it done in July and was pregnant in September (it ended in miscarriage due to a blighted ovum) but none the less, it's absolutely still possible to have children.  The only things I was told by my infertility specialist is that it will not lessen your chances and that people who have the laser procedure done are more likely to have a csection but you know what, I will take whatever has to happen to have a baby!

This is an old belief that has been proven untrue. The procedure you had will not stop you from having children. You can call and ask some doctors and they will tell you the same thing. So relax.

Hey listen becareful what people tell you, i would ask your OBGYN, i didnt have that done, but i did have a Colposcopy done, how ever you say that, and i got preg after, and my dr just asked me about it, she said she was not concerned about the hpv, just the scraping, cause it could effect you possibly holding the baby, im not so sure about getting prego though. And plus you had something diff,i would call around a few OBGYN's and ask them, before you listen to your friends, they mean well, but women like to talk, and sometimes information gets lost as it travels, so before you get you crazy ask the dr, or dig up something on line! Good luck and don't worry!!!
