Help me please, I am confused!

This is my first time posting a question here, but I hope you guys can help me. I got my mirena (IUD) removed on August 20th, and for about two weeks I was spotting on and off, like I would spot a couple of days and then it would stop and then when I had intercourse with my hubby the next day I would start spotting again, but after two weeks it stop completely. So needless to say I have no idea when I am suppose to get my period, but for about two weeks now I have been feeling sick on my stomach, some days I am sick almost all day and some days I am fine, and then there are days when I am fine part of the time and the other time I am feeling sick, but I have no other symptoms, I have taken 2 pregnancy test and they both have been negative. Could I be pregnant and it be to early for the PT to detect it or is it to soon to be preggo. I am going crazy because I am afraid to take some medicine and then be pregnant, please help me. I don't know when to expect my period and don't know if am pregnant or not? Thank you so much

the Mirena IUD are hormonal, but only a low dose of progestrone only. I had my mirena IUD removed a little over a month ago I had quite a few pregnancy type symptoms over the onth, but I think mine was just from coming off the hormones, because I started my period  4 days ago (exactly 28 days after I started bleeding from having it removed), I bled for about 8 days when I had it romoved (my doctor says this can be your period or caused from the removal of a foreign object or both). I did have a friend that got pregnant within 2 weeks of having her IUD removed, so I would keep testing like once a week until you get your period!. Good luck

You should probably wait another 2 weeks and if you STILL haven't gotten your period you should porbably go to the doctor and get blood work. I read on a pregnancy website that even though most pregnancy tests SAY they can detect pregnancy up to 5 days, they usually can't detect it until ATLEAST the day before your missed period.

Your best chance at finding out would be the blood work, but after about 2, 2 and a half weeks, I'd say a home PT would detect it.

Good luck =]

I'm not sure if Mirena is hormonal either! How do they remove it? Perhaps your spotting and bleeding was from the physical removal of the IUD?

If I remember correctly I think Mirena is hormonal and the copper IUD is not. ??? I don't have experience with BC.

I don't think mirena is a hormone bc, but i am not sure. So when should I expect my first period, see I have a friend that got her iud removed and got pregnant before she even got a period, and her son is now 2 yrs old. She said that she never even bleed.

Your body will need time to adjust after coming off of Birth Control. Especially if it was a hormone BC. Give your body time. There needs to be at least 20 days of non-bleeding between bleeds in order to consider a new bleed your actual period, if that makes sense.
