I didn't see the number 3 until you pointed it out, justice, thank you! I slit my thumb wide open and got stitches and they gave me a prescrip for that and I refused to take anything. I was in so much pain I couldn't even dress myself or shower myself (I had no use of my entire right arm and hand). I severed nerves in that thumb, which STILL do not have any feeling (this was 2 years ago).
It was a personal choice I made, because I was pregnant when I slit my thumb open, to not take the narcotics. You, too, have a choice. Not saying I'm better than you. Just saying that you CAN do it!
justice6920 is right....she's taking Tylenol with codeine.....PLEASE make sure that your OB knows that you're taking this, also depending on the ratio of Tylenol to Codeine, your only supposed to take 4000mg of acetaminophen in a 24 hours period or your kidneys will shut down.
She is taking tylenol 3 which is a narcotic ( I think its tylenol with codean..sorry im sure the spelling is off)..... and 10 I would think is way to much of ANY pain pill...... I would def talk to the dr about other methods (like bed rest as joy stated) or other pain relief.... but your not gauranteed an unhealthy baby because of the meds! So all might be just fine....... but def talk to your dr about it
I have serious chronic back pain, and I don't take anything! Soley because I am allergic to it all, but what is causing the chronic pain?
Your only suppose to take 2 every 4 to 6 hours, 10 is way to much! Your ob/gyn can prescribe vicodin, or something else for pain, if it's serious!
Your baby wont be sick, but may be a bit smaller than normal at birth! But nothing that would cause any serious problems!
I also think 10 per day is a lot, but you should really talk w/ your Dr.
Good luck and keep us posted!
First, why are you in pain? Second, is the pain medication doctor-directed? I know Tylenol is over-the-counter drug but you should be speaking with your OBGYN about what is going on so that they can help you. Depending on the problem maybe bed rest is a good option.
Why would you need to be prepared to have a sick baby? Tylenol is safe during pregnancy. But 10 a day is probably excessive. I don't think it'll make your baby sick.
